Who We Are
We're Daniel and Samantha, welcome to Gravy & Custard Catering! For Dan it was cooking with his grandma as a child that gave him his love of food. Her traditional style sometimes got confused as his culinary tastes got more adventurous, which prompted an immortal line,
“If it ain’t got Gravy it ain’t a dinner
If it ain’t got Custard it’s not a pudding”

Many years later and after almost 20 years in professional catering, we are both tending to agree!
Gravy & Custard is a family catering venture based on a love of traditional cooking that adds the flair of restaurant experience and mixes it with the warmth of the family table.

Weddings
We set out to make your wedding a magical experience for you and your guests, with beautiful food, attentive service and strong attention to detail. We endeavour to offer a customised experience for each of our couples to support you along the journey of planning your big day; every wedding is special and unique in it's own way, whether it's an intimate wedding in a family garden with canapes and family style sharing dishes, or a large wedding with a formal banquet and late night food to keep your guests dancing after dark, we want to offer a service that is unique, affordable and a pleasure to plan from the very beginning of the process to the last mouthful of food.

From 80's themed Birthday Dinners, to House Warming Garden Parties with Bowl Food, Christmas Canapé Parties for the village, Christening Buffets in your garden to elaborate feasts in the Crypts of Liverpool Cathedral, we've catered every type of event. Whatever style or size of event you're hosting, we can create the perfect bespoke menu to compliment your plans and budget to make a truly memorable occasion for you and your guests!

Supper Clubs
Our Supper Clubs are pop-up restaurant nights held in local venues on long shared tables and are designed to be a unique, relaxed, social, community-building dining experience focused around wonderful food experiences.
Our next supper club will be at Watlington Artweek in May at the fantastic Tree Barn at Christmas Common, booking is essential and places are selling fast!

Crumble Shack
The Crumble Shack is our flagship street food stall, taking our love of crumble and custard to Festivals, Street Food Markets, University Balls, Fireworks and Weddings since 2015. We offer piping hot portions of Great British Crumble with a luscious vanilla custard and vanilla ice cream, a choice of fruit filling and crunchy toasted crumble toppings, all handmade with love from scratch with fresh ingredients.

Crew Catering
We have had the pleasure of catering on set and on location to Film and TV shoots, both local to us in Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and in London. So whether you are looking for local caterers to feed a hard working crew on location or would love to bring in the Crumble Shack for a fabulous treat for the whole crew, we'd love to hear from you to run through your brief or project!

After the great success of our Christmas Delivered Boxes since 2020 we will be back with our Christmas offering for 2024 later in the year!

We hired Gravy & Custard for a TV production in Huntercombe, and they were fantastic caterers to work with! Each day, they delivered exceptional hot food. Multiple departments across the production frequently praised their cooking, including Executive Producers who are highly experienced in the food sector, and every day the food was delivered on time. Gravy & Custard were also incredibly flexible with their menu options, despite our constraints and budget limits, and were able to produce a variety of delicious meals each day. I'd highly recommend them and will definitely be working with them again!

What can we say - The food for our wedding from Gravy & Custard was absolutely outstanding and delicious! Many of our guests couldn’t stop raving about how the pies were the best they had ever eaten!
